Real People

I love 'real' people. People who aren't afraid to say it like it is. When we all pretend 'it's all good'...it's not good. Of course I agree that it's not good to 'say it like it is' ALL the time...sometimes it's better to say nothing, especially when it's been a long day (or night) and all you have to say is nothing good anyway. But overall, real relationship and truly knowing someone can only happen when you are willing to be honest about yourself and life. And I love that - real relationship and really knowing someone.
I have to admit I'm addicted to blogs. I'm just overwhelmed with the vulnerability and diversity that is sitting out there waiting for me to read it...not to mention the creativity and inspiration. I read somewhere that blogs are like porn for women. Once you get started you can't get enough and it just calls out to you, tempting you with the fake and untouchable reality it presents. (again, that isn't original to me...although I wish it was!;) I think that is pretty much right on. So, I love it when I find a blog that is being real - showing pics of their messy house, being honest about a business they started that failed and how they are still trying to figure out what to do or the one I found tonight, where the couple is recovering from one of the partners infidelity. Wow.
When we realize that we aren't the only ones with 'junk' in our lives, maybe we will realize we don't have to hide so much? I want that in my life- real, honest and genuine relationships without so much hiding. For those of you that have shown me what that looks like, THANK YOU!

  1. Hi Mindy! I look forward to following you and getting to know you better through your blog! I am hooked on blogs too and even started one, but realized I didn't have that much to say.. Mine was called Cracked Pot Mom. Ever hear of the story of the cracked pot?? It's a good one, but I won't go into it if you have. Well, yes I will, but just a bit. We are all cracked pots, but the cracked pots, although not perfect, water the flowers along the path that they are carried. Nice sentiment, right?
Anyway, missed church again and I know my week will be lacking, but I'll be back..
